Maximum grip and handling, maximum driving pleasure

For high performance sports cars.

The Dunlop SP SportMaxx is a race-proven tyre that delivers maximum grip for high performance sports cars.

Outstanding dry and wet handling
Superb braking and acceleration performance
High aquaplaning resistance
Stability and comfort

Description:

The SP SportMaxx delivers Top class performance on both wet and dry surfaces. The tyre's Multi Radius Tread (MRT) offers more control in corner and outstanding dry and wet handling. Maximum grip and handling, maximum driving pleasure - for high performance sports cars: Outstanding dry and wet handling, superb braking and acceleration performance, high aquaplaning resistance plus stability and comfort.

Technology (Features):

Superior braking, cornering and handling in wet and dry conditions.

Also reduces rolling resistance, which can help enhance fuel economy.

Enhanced handling in wet and dry conditions.

Reduces the risk of losing control on wet roads.

Consumer benefits:

Shorter breaking distance.

Very responsive steering.

Rim protection that protects expensive alloys from kerbing.

Longer tread life.

Excellent acceleration and braking performance.

Stability and comfort. Enjoy smooth and precise driving at speed, thanks to a stable center rib design. The tread pattern minimizes noise for a quieter and more comfortable ride.

High aquaplaning resistance. The SP SportMaxx performs in wet weather conditions. Special tread regions eject water rapidly from under the tire footprint, reducing the risk of aquaplaning on rain soaked roads.

Outstanding dry and wet handling. Dunlop Touch Technology is behind the exceptional performance of the SP SportMaxx. Pressure is spread evenly across the tyre, putting more rubber in contact with the driving surface. The transition from straight to curve is smooth, giving you more time to feel the road and react when needed.

Superb braking and acceleration performance. Proven on the race track, the rubber compound delivers extra grip on both dry and wet roads. Acceleration becomes more responsive and braking times shorter. The durable compound is long wearing for increased mileage.

Specific bead seat system. Strengthens the link between tyre and rim for a more precise driving experience. Like the grip between your hand and the steering wheel, the Specific Bead Seat System enhances control and conveys outstanding road feedback. Benefits Enhanced road feedback; greater stability and precision.

Maximum Flange Shield (MFS). A rim flange protection system. MFS employs a profile of rubber that runs around the circumference of the tyre above the wheel flange. This creates a protective buffer zone.* Benefits Protects expensive alloy wheels from kerbing.* Only available in select sizes

EU Tyre Label and Efficiency Classes

The European Union has introduced the EU Tyre Label by Regulation (No. 1222/2009) identically and bindingly for all EU member states. It applies to passenger car tyres, light commercial vehicle tyres and heavy commercial vehicle tyres produced after 01.07.2012.

Three different areas are tested: rolling resistance, wet grip and the rolling noise the tyre makes on the road.

The following are not affected by the EU Tyre Label: retreaded tyres, professional off-road tyres, racing tyres, tyres with additional devices to improve traction such as spiked tyres, T-type emergency tyres, special tyres for fitting to vehicles first registered before 1 October 1990, tyres with a maximum authorised speed of 80 km/h, tyres for rims with a nominal diameter of 254 mm or less or 635 mm or more.

With this regulation, the European Union is pursuing the goal of promoting economic and ecological efficiency in road traffic as well as increasing road safety on the one hand, and on the other hand, granting consumers more product transparency and at the same time serving as an active decision-making aid.

Already during the incorporation, experts criticise the fact that the EU Tyre Label unfortunately only shows a few product characteristics. Apart from rolling resistance, wet grip and rolling noise, which are the main focus of EU tyre labelling, tyres have much more important and safety-relevant product characteristics, such as aquaplaning properties, driving stability, service life, braking properties on dry and wet roads, behaviour in wintry conditions, etc.

Tyre manufacturers point out that test results from various institutions and journals remain an important information medium for the end consumer. These tests usually focus on further safety-relevant product characteristics besides the EU standard qualifications for tyre labelling, which are always important for the final customer.

The driving experience with these tyres is very good with good stability of the vehicle. I have not had any issues with driving on these tyres and find that the build of the tyre is substantial and suitable for my vehicle.
