Maximum grip and handling, maximum driving pleasure

For high performance sports cars.

The Dunlop SP SportMaxx is a race-proven tyre that delivers maximum grip for high performance sports cars.

Outstanding dry and wet handling
Superb braking and acceleration performance
High aquaplaning resistance
Stability and comfort

Specific bead seat system. Strengthens the link between tire and rim for a more precise driving experience. Like the grip between your hand and the steering wheel, the Specific Bead Seat System enhances control and conveys outstanding road feedback.Benefits Enhanced road feedback; greater stability and precision.

Jointless Belt (JLB). A Hybrid Overlay Technology that reduces circumferential deformations at high speeds.Benefits Superior high speed stability; smooth and even wear.

Maximum Flange Shield (MFS). A rim flange protection system. MFS employs a profile of rubber that runs around the circumference of the tire above the wheel flange. This creates a protective buffer zone.* Benefits Protects expensive alloy wheels from kerbing.* Only available in select sizes

Multi Radius Tread (MRT). MRT designs employ ten different radii and are therefore more precise. This results in highly effective pressure deployment on the road contact patch. The effect is smoother transitions from straight to corner, leading to more precise and progressive reactions.Benefits Significantly better control over the evolution of the footprint in all driving conditions; responsive wet and dry handling; increased cornering control.

Dual Silica Compound. This compound improves acceleration performance and promotes low wear and tear.Benefits Superb braking and acceleration performance; excellent handling on summer and autumn roads; high grip; wear resistance.

RunOnFlat. Dunlop Self Supporting Technology (DSST)Dunlop RunOnFlat Technology allows for continued driving after a puncture or blowout for up to 80km. RunOnFlat tyres use reinforced sidewalls, which enable the tyre to maintain mobility after a complete loss of air pressure.Safety Notice Dunlop RunOnFlat tyres should only be mounted on cars that are designed for run flat tyres and equipped with a fully operating tyre pressure warning device, such as Dunlop WARNAIR. A maximum distance of 80km/50 miles and maximum speed of 80 kmh/50 mph should not be exceeded. Please refer to your car’s manual as manufacturers’ advice for a particular vehicle may differ.

EU Tyre Label and Efficiency Classes

The European Union has introduced the EU Tyre Label by Regulation (No. 1222/2009) identically and bindingly for all EU member states. It applies to passenger car tyres, light commercial vehicle tyres and heavy commercial vehicle tyres produced after 01.07.2012.

Three different areas are tested: rolling resistance, wet grip and the rolling noise the tyre makes on the road.

The following are not affected by the EU Tyre Label: retreaded tyres, professional off-road tyres, racing tyres, tyres with additional devices to improve traction such as spiked tyres, T-type emergency tyres, special tyres for fitting to vehicles first registered before 1 October 1990, tyres with a maximum authorised speed of 80 km/h, tyres for rims with a nominal diameter of 254 mm or less or 635 mm or more.

With this regulation, the European Union is pursuing the goal of promoting economic and ecological efficiency in road traffic as well as increasing road safety on the one hand, and on the other hand, granting consumers more product transparency and at the same time serving as an active decision-making aid.

Already during the incorporation, experts criticise the fact that the EU Tyre Label unfortunately only shows a few product characteristics. Apart from rolling resistance, wet grip and rolling noise, which are the main focus of EU tyre labelling, tyres have much more important and safety-relevant product characteristics, such as aquaplaning properties, driving stability, service life, braking properties on dry and wet roads, behaviour in wintry conditions, etc.

Tyre manufacturers point out that test results from various institutions and journals remain an important information medium for the end consumer. These tests usually focus on further safety-relevant product characteristics besides the EU standard qualifications for tyre labelling, which are always important for the final customer.
