ENJOY YOUR SPORTY JOURNEY

'Constant performance and comfort along all tyre life. Improved mileage and excellent handling in wet and dry conditions. Excellent tyre choice for tuners and the most demanding sports performance drivers. Ideal for changeovers of ultra-low profile tyres with larger wheel diameter.'

P ZERO NERO™ GT is the evolution of the P ZERO NERO™: enhanced product performance and wider fitments range, targeting those consumers who want to fit Pirelli on their medium-large saloons and sporty cars.

Materials and tread design have been optimised, introducing the latest technological developments. The new compound has a balanced content of silica in order to enhance wear resistance without compromising the sportive feeling of the product in both dry and wet conditions.

EU Tyre Label and Efficiency Classes

The European Union has introduced the EU Tyre Label by Regulation (No. 1222/2009) identically and bindingly for all EU member states. It applies to passenger car tyres, light commercial vehicle tyres and heavy commercial vehicle tyres produced after 01.07.2012.

Three different areas are tested: rolling resistance, wet grip and the rolling noise the tyre makes on the road.

The following are not affected by the EU Tyre Label: retreaded tyres, professional off-road tyres, racing tyres, tyres with additional devices to improve traction such as spiked tyres, T-type emergency tyres, special tyres for fitting to vehicles first registered before 1 October 1990, tyres with a maximum authorised speed of 80 km/h, tyres for rims with a nominal diameter of 254 mm or less or 635 mm or more.

With this regulation, the European Union is pursuing the goal of promoting economic and ecological efficiency in road traffic as well as increasing road safety on the one hand, and on the other hand, granting consumers more product transparency and at the same time serving as an active decision-making aid.

Already during the incorporation, experts criticise the fact that the EU Tyre Label unfortunately only shows a few product characteristics. Apart from rolling resistance, wet grip and rolling noise, which are the main focus of EU tyre labelling, tyres have much more important and safety-relevant product characteristics, such as aquaplaning properties, driving stability, service life, braking properties on dry and wet roads, behaviour in wintry conditions, etc.

Tyre manufacturers point out that test results from various institutions and journals remain an important information medium for the end consumer. These tests usually focus on further safety-relevant product characteristics besides the EU standard qualifications for tyre labelling, which are always important for the final customer.

This type of tyres does not like wet and cold. In my case on performance vehicle those tyres are not good.

I have been really impressed with the Pirelli P Zero Nero GT tyres. So much so that I have fitted them to front and rear now. They are a very competent tyre for the 140 BHP that my Audi produces. They offer very good all round performance at a reasonable price. Having owned a Polo GTi before my Audi - which had a higher power output of 190 BHP, I had previously purchased more sport oriented tyres - the Yokohama AD08 R’s which were fitted all round. These tyres offered even better grip than the Pirelli in the dry, but lacked wet road abilities that the Pirelli can still handle so well. The wear rate has also been quite impressive. After covering around 7,000 KM, I have around 4.5mm remaining on my front tyres. In my opinion therefore, the Pirelli P Zero Nero GT offer a very good all round performance at a reasonable cost.

Really a great set of tires, with amazing grip. I have them on a modified BMW, and the grip in these tires are just incredible. The way I can take corners, when driving in the mountains - I feel safe enough to push the car that extra little bit further - drifting is precise, and the tires are just brilliant.

Used PZero tyres for 15 years without problems. These new GTs 'wash out' at certain times, in dry conditions, at low speed and in a straight line, removing all steering feel and grip.
