Comment:
Still 5mm tread after 59000 km, but severe sidewall cracking forces new tyres. Driving in a careful style, the tyres seemed fine, and could handle an emergency stop, in the dry. In the wet, usually Ok, but they could slip with aggressive handling. Exceptional wear rated at 420, due I believe, to a hard rubber composition, with consequent trade off in grip.
Better than part worn from a scrap yard, possibly, but I no longer think it's wise to economise quite this much on tyres, considering that occasion when the amount of reserve grip may make all the difference.
